Education: Barry's style is basically self-taught. He is currently studying with Barbara Wasserman in figure study. Barry worked with Donner Fuller in watercolor. He studied at the Armory for oils. He has studied with Barbara Kozell for oils, and studied with Billie Samuelson in watercolors . He has taken a workshop in pastels with Christina Debarry.

About the Artist: Barry's work truly reflects his individuality; it is filled with energy, wonderful color and personal expression. He is a dramatic colorist and works in a semi-impressionist to semi- surrealist style. His style has been discribed as 'bizarre'.Barry is quite free in his work and is not afraid to tackle difficult subjects and utilize color to its fullest extent. Influenced by his grandmother Sara, whose intricate technique and use of primary colors, have taken hold in Barry's style. His parents, Nathan and Beatrice influenced both his orderly eye and his love of color and his flair for style. He has always been interested in recording memories of places he has been and people dear to him. His works are in many businesses and in the homes of clients, family and friends. Barry has been President of the Community Arts Association of northern NJ.
